Our classes created these wonderful animals in their habitats out of clay. In addition to our pictures there are a few facts we thought you should know. Please take a look. We hope you enjoy this information!

Monkey habitat

Monkey by MacKenzie

1. A monkey swings from trees to get from place to place.
2. Monkeys eat insects and fruit.
3. Monkeys can have different color fur.

1. Monkeys are smart.
2. Monkeys are sometimes silly.
3. Monkey fur is sometimes brown and sometimes black.

Flamingo habitat
Flamingo by Isabelle

1. The way a flamingo gets pink is what they eat. They eat pink fish.
2. There are many species of flamingos, and they can be found in America and Africa.
3. A little flamingo is the size of a first grader.


Giraffe by Rebecca

1. Giraffe's have a long neck.
2. Giraffe's get their food on trees.
3. No two giraffe's look the same.


Jaguar by Rachel

1. Jaguars sleep in the day and hung at night.
2. Jaguars live in the rain forest.

3. Jaguars are in the cat family.


Chimpanzees by Danielle

1. Chimpanzees look like a person with the fur.
2. Chimpanzee use branches and leaves to make a bed.
3. Most are about 3 feet tall. The size of a 10 year old.


Capuchin Monkey by Will

1. The Capuchin Monkey lives in the Evergreen Rain Forest.
2. 65% of its diet is fruit and it eats 95 kinds of fruit.
3. The Capuchin Monkey can make 14 kinds of noises.



Chimpanzee by Rachel

1. Chimpanzees are one of the most interesting apes.
2. Chimpanzees use tools like sticks, leaves and their hands.
3. Chimpanzees eat bird eggs.


Zebra by Matteo

1. Zebras sometimes sleep standing up. Zebras protect themselves by kicking and biting.
2. Zebras live in the horse family.
3. Zebras sleep by taking turns for safety.


Zebra by Morgan

1. Zebras do not have a home. They are migratory. The Zebras sleep in the open.
2. Zebras are protected by their black and white stripes.
3. Even though all Zebras are white with black stripes, no 2 are exactly alike.


King Snake by Marc

1. The king snake gets up to 30 to 85 inches long.
2. King snakes find their food near their homes.
3. When king snakes are scared, they vibrate their tail.


Elephant by Eliza

1. A baby elephant has to learn how to suck the water up its trunk and pit it in its mouth.
2. Elephants use mud as sunscreen.
3. When an elephant of the group dies, the other elephants cry to show they are upset.


Penguin by Alexander

1. The largest penguin is about four feet tall and is 65-90 pounds.
2. The smallest penguin weighs 2 pounds.
3. Some penguins can jump as high as 10 feet.

1. Elephants take water in their trunk and spray it in their mouth.
2. Elephants have two long sharp tasks on the sides of their mouths, which help them protect themselves when they are in danger.
3. Elephants become silent in the face of danger. When the threat is over they start making noise again.

1. Kangaroos eat leaves, grass and trees.
2. Kangaroos colors are reddish brownish.
3. Kangaroos live in the open lands.

1. An elephant protects her baby by putting the baby next to her.
2. A baby elephant sleeps under the mommy elephant.
3. An elephant protects itself with its tucks.


Tiger by Emily

1. Tigers can be up to 10 feet long.
2. A tiger hunts for it's food.
3. Tigers live in Asia.


Penguin by Nicholas

1. Penguins dive to get their food.
2. Penguins are black and white and waddle.
3. Penguins are 3 ½ feet tall.



Boa Constrictor by James

1. Boa Constrictors wrap around its pray. Then it squeezes it.
2. The boas enemy is man. The boa eats rats, mice, deep and pigs.
3. The boa lives in the jungle.


Parakeet by Gregory

1. A parakeet is a bird.
2. Parakeets live in the jungle.
3. A parakeet can fly.
